Another investment in the electric distribution system

Enemalta completed a project in Burmarrad area which forms part of the overall plan to strengthen the electrical distribution system.

Installation of two new feeders have been installed supplying Bugibba Distribution Centre. The investment for this project was around one million euros.

These two new 11KV feeders have complemented another feeder which is linked to Mosta Distribution Centre to provide electricity within the industrial estate located between Burmarrad and the Telgħa t’Alla u Ommu.

The benefits of this project include:

✅ The industrial estate energy demands shall be met through two distinct Distribution centers.

✅ In case of a fault, the energy supply may be quickly restored by providing electricity through an alternate feeder.

✅ Increases the supply stability as it caters for high voltage issues caused by the electricity generated photovoltaic panels.
