Extensive maintenance on the Cup Screen in Delimara

The International Energy Service Centre’s maintenance team is currently carrying out major maintenance on one of the cup screens that serve as large seawater sieves used to cool machinery at the Delimara Power Station.

The two-story-high cup screens filters away seawater from marine life and plastic-like debris found in the sea. The power plants would suffer severe damage without the seawater intake filtering system provided by these cup screens.
