Professional Executive (Project Management & Civil)
1.0 Basic Functions
The Professional Executive (Project Management & Civil) shall ensure proper management of projects within the Civil and Project Management Office by coordinating, implementing and monitoring plans and objectives to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.
The Professional Executive (Project Management & Civil) shall provide maintenance and support services within the agreed service level and resources. Moreover, he/she shall monitor and ensure that team members are developing skills and experience and identifies training as required.
2.0 Duties & Responsibilities
2.1 The PE (Project Management & Civil) will be required to manage effectively any civil works projects, of whatever nature, to ensure completion within the agreed budget, time schedule and to the specification.
2.2 Carry out site work, inspects sites for and during Civil Engineering projects and supervise projects whenever required.
2.3 Make recommendations on construction methods and prepare detailed drawings, plans, contract documents and specifications, including Bills of Quantities.
2.4 Liaise with Civil engineering consultants and oversees works to ensure adherence to Contract conditions, including related correspondence.
2.5 Conducts regular meetings with the Manager Civil and/or project stakeholders, for the purposes of project progress, project issues, resources, budgeting and planning;
2.6 Organises and directs maintenance and repair works on existing structures.
2.7 Must be able to use CAD systems to design buildings and structures which are suitable for their intended use and are aesthetically pleasing.
2.8 Carry out site work and supervision of projects whenever required and prepares formal acceptance reports as required by management
2.9 Prepare tender specifications and contract documents and tender adjudication reports. Issue interim, taking-over and final certificates to suppliers of works, services and materials.
2.10 Keep proper and timely records related to the projects falling under his responsibility and prepares regular reports as required by management. Prepares reports and applications to external agencies and authorities, for the obtaining or permits and approvals as required by management.
2.11 Maintain technical liaison with project teams, suppliers, consultants with other relevant specialists.
2.12 Ensures that any strategic problems are identified at the earliest opportunity and that solutions are identified and implemented;
2.13 Provides general consultancy on project management;
2.14 Contributes extensively to the annual planning and budgetary process;
2.15 Organises and supervises third party sub-contractors;
2.16 Directs personnel under his/her responsibility to optimise the operation of the civil works section in such a way as to achieve the highest possible efficiency and ensure that performance standards by all personnel under his/her responsibility are consistently maintained.
2.17 Direct subordinates in meeting their work objectives and train, monitor and appraise the performance of his/her subordinates.
2.18 Makes use of any software and or system that may be introduced by the Company in the execution of his/her duties.
2.19 Any other duties as assigned by the Manager Civil or his/her delegate.
3.0 Working Conditions
3.1 Normal office hours and conditions with a possible requirement to work in unscheduled or crisis situations after office hours or on weekends.

5.0 Academic Qualification
5.1 Essential Qualification
5.1.1 Recognised Bachelor’s Degree at MQF Level 6 (subject to a minimum of 180 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent ) in Construction/Civil/Building/Structural Engineering or Quantity Surveying (in relation to Civil Engineering) or Project Management (in relation to Civil Engineering).
5.2 Desirable Qualifications
5.2.1 Certification in Project Management Methodology and Techniques.
5.2.2 Certification in General Management.
5.2.3 Certification in CAD software.
